Mission & Commitment

The Mayor's Office of Contract Services (MOCS) oversees and streamlines the City's procurement process. MOCS is committed to increasing M/WBE participation in City contracting, reducing barriers for smaller providers and nonprofits, and improving transparency and accountability in the contracting process. In FY23, M/WBEs accounted for only 5.3% of the estimated $40 billion in annual contract spending in new City contracts and purchase orders. In FY24, the City awarded $6.4 billion in M/WBE contracts through a multi-agency effort.
