Mission & Commitment

The Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) drives digital transformation across city government and works to close the digital divide. The plan acknowledges that 35% of Black households and 36% of Hispanic households in NYC lack broadband access. OTI's equity goals focus on expanding broadband access to underserved communities, addressing algorithmic bias in city government systems (consistent with Community Equity Priority #5), improving digital literacy, and building a diverse tech workforce.

Short-Term Goals

Provide mandatory anti-bias training for all staff involved in the hiring process to promote an equitable hiring process
