Mission & Commitment

The Civic Engagement Commission (CEC) promotes participation in government and in civic life through voter assistance, participatory budgeting, language access, and community outreach programs. CEC's equity goals focus on expanding civic participation among communities of color and communities with limited English proficiency, improving language access citywide, and centering underrepresented voices in government decision-making.

Short-Term Goals

Ensure all CEC public facing material is accessible to diverse communities through meeting Local Law 30 25and plain language requirements
